Since 2013, Basecamp Adventure Outfitters in Medicine Park has been a go-to source for hiking, biking, climbing and camping supplies, rentals and more. Head to this charming small-town shop to secure mountain bikes, kayaks or paddleboards for the ultimate experience at local lakes and mountains. 

The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is a one-of-a-kind destination in southwest Oklahoma. The refuge spans over 59,000 majestic acres and is home to free range buffalo, Texas longhorn cattle, prairie dogs, elk and deer. Hikers and photographers will be astounded by the amount of incredible scenery offered within the refuge. Recreation opportunities include mountain biking, rock climbing, rappelling, hiking, camping, picnic areas and fishing!

Situated just a block and half from Lake Lawtonka Dam, you'll find the Little Dam Bait Shop & Store with Mount Scott in the background. This small-town mountain-style shop is stocked with fishing tackle, live bait, frozen bait, knives and more for your next fishing excursion near Medicine Park. Ask for local fishing map!

In summertime, bring the family down to Bath Lake in Medicine Park for a splash of fun and a packed picnic lunch. Tote along your favorite pool noodle or inflatable raft as you cool down in this granite swimming pool. With natural flowing waters from Medicine Creek, swim in the clear waters of the shallow kiddie pool. 

In winter months, Bath Lake transforms from a swimming destination to a fishing hotspot, stocked full of trout.

Bring the whole family to Medicine Park for a fun and educational experience. The mission of the Medicine Park Aquarium & Nature Sciences Center is conservation through education – bringing people, nature and science together in a fun and interactive experience. This unique eco-tourism attraction has over 90 native and non-native fish, reptile, amphibian, bird and mammal species on exhibit.

Fed by streams from the Wichita Mountains, Lake Lawtonka is located just north of Lawton. With 2,398 acres and 21 miles of shoreline, this lake is great for swimming, boating and a variety of water sports.

Wake up early before the line starts and bring your appetite! Start your morning at Joe Mountain Breakfast, a quaint Medicine Park cafe serving a unique spin on breakfast favorites.

New to the area. Stop in for a refreshing brew with unique  sandwiches or pizza combinations. Ask to sit on the patio to enjoy the wonderful creekside views! 

One step into this grand, three-story building will transport you back in time as you browse through the historic Medicine Park photos lining the wall. The original reception desk from when the restaurant was named the Grand Hotel remains, as well as a gift shop and the original Tap Room bar complete with beer, wine and spirits.

Riverside Café in historic Medicine Park offers a delightful menu and beautiful views of Medicine Creek. Dine indoors surrounded by bits of Medicine Park memorabilia or head to the outdoor patio to overlook the water and wildlife.

Stop by Mrs. Chadwick's Bakery in Medicine Park for special occasion treats and daily baked goods. Regular offerings like cinnamon rolls, donuts and muffins taste just as sweet in the morning or afternoon, as well as bourbon pecan cake, drunk blondies and cookie sandwiches. Browse the sweets up for grabs at the counter at Mrs. Chadwick's Bakery, and leave with baked-with-love goodies.

Get the scoop on the latest mixing trends at Cobblestone Creamery in the heart of Medicine Park. This adorable little ice cream parlor features a large selection of toppings and syrups to complement their rich and creamy ice creams.

 Serving some of the best burgers in Oklahoma, the Meers Store and Restaurant's famous lean patties are made from grass-fed, Meers-raised Longhorns, ground fresh and served the cowboy way. For decades, visitors to the nearby Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge have been stopping here for a hearty meal after a day of hiking, rock-climbing or taking in the sights. There's no better way to finish your day than with the store's signature seven-inch diameter Meersburger and an ice cold 22-ounce Meers Gold Beer, a wheat brew produced in state. 

Located in Lawton. Great place if you want or need to catch a game during your visit.  Family owned. They offer the best local burgers combinations, ask about the burger special.  If you don't want a burger, they do offer plenty of other delicious meals that keeps our family going back for more! They do offer tasty brunch on Saturday and Sundays.

Located in Elgin, about 15 minutes from our cabin but totally worth the drive!  We love to brag about this local favorite. New craft brews every month, delicious family food recipes, and side yard with fire pits and games for all  ages to enjoy! Often hosting local bands and craft shops on the weekends.
